Mr. Ludwig's 1995 award winning Broadway comedy play concerns George and Charlotte Hay, aging actors who never quite made the big time and their financially strapped talent poor repertory company housed at an out of the way theater in Buffalo during the early 1950's. They are to be given one last chance for stardom.

News Flash: "Yesterday, on the set of "The Twilight of The Scarlet Pimpernel", Ronald Coleman made his first entrance, fell down a flight of stairs and broke his legs. As a consequence, the director of the film, Frank Capra , winner of two thousand Academy Awards, Mr. Hollywood himself is flying to Buffalo to look for a replacement". He will attend George and Charlotte's matinee. Problem: Matinee Cancelled. The events leading to cancellation and the subsequent attempt to put on the show at all costs are hilarious and fast paced.
